Meet Colin
Just a small-town boy, born and raised not far from (south?) Detroit, in Fenton, Michigan, Colin Hodgkin was practically born performing. He began dancing at 3, playing piano at 4, singing at 5, and acting at 6. He graced the stages of his local church, community theatre, and school, earning a reputation as a talented kid and a real character! He began experimenting with other instruments, including taking bagpipe lessons. He took on roles in television and movies during Michigan’s short-lived, tax-incentive-driven film industry boom. Colin advanced his skills as an actor and singer with voice lessons and workshops in acting (taught by Broadway and Stratford Shakespeare Festival professionals). Santa brought more musical instruments each and every year.

Finally, it was time for Colin to begin his formal training in a collegiate setting. After an exhaustive audition season, Colin chose Wright State University and pursued a BFA in Acting with Musical Theatre emphasis. It was an exciting time, filled with a fantastic combination of learning and performing. Colin performed on Wright State’s main stage, the student Directing Lab stage and earned Equity credit at Dayton’s Human Race Theatre. He created unique and imaginative film projects. He spent summers working in regional theaters and “failing forward” with The Performing Arts Project.

Graduation led to summer work playing piano in theme parks, which led to performer contracts with Holland America cruise line. He plays a total of 17 instruments (so far), including banjo, drums, guitar, mandolin, and bass. Colin is currently based in NYC, and continues his work at the keys, behind the lens, and on the boards.

Colin loves exploring the city, writing music, building/designing projects, and geeking over Star Wars lore. He is always up for a creative challenge. Colin brings a unique, playful perspective to every project.
