1. The Curious Incident of the Dog in the Night-Time
WATERTOWER THEATRE, ADDISON, TEXAS (AEA)
WaterTower Theatre presented the regional premiere of this groundbreaking contemporary play as it’s first production post-pandemic. Colin had a passion for the role of Christopher and travelled from Michigan to Texas to audition. He was ultimately cast in the leading role and had an incredible experience working with the mostly-Texas-native cast of professional actors. Colin’s nuanced performance garnered rave reviews.

As the autistic teen, Colin Hodgkin is a revelation. The Michigan native has played the role before, honing Christopher's highly specific physical tics and vocal patterns and now inviting the audience into his reality with a masterfully raw edge.

Hodgkin is the unmitigated star of this show, a presence so strangely magnetic that he can delightfully perform the Pythagorean theorem (you just have to see it). I cannot describe precisely how Hodgkin makes Christopher adorable, but he does it—wailing and abnormal speech and gestures notwithstanding. The play requires a powerhouse performance of Christopher’s unusual character, and Hodgkin delivers.
Hodgkin uses Christopher’s speech pattern—normal inflections are flattened into a not unpleasant sing-song—to brilliant comic effect.
